On January 1, 2004, the North West University (NWU) was established as part of the South African government’s effort to improve higher education. In our instance, this ended in the merger of a historically white and historically black school to create a new university that embraces South Africans from all areas of life.
The ancient University of North-West, whose students were mostly black small communities, was a historically black university. Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education was a mainly white university with mostly white Afrikaans students of Christian heritage.
The Sebokeng Campus of Vista, a largely black institution, would be a third partner, with employees and students involved.

Requirements for Admission

Completed application
All college transcripts, as well as official high school transcripts
Transfer students who have fewer than 72 transferable quarter credits or 60-semester credits must provide an approved high school transcript or diploma (evidence of high school graduation).
A minimum GPA of 2.3 is required for regular admission.
You must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 to be admitted to academic probation.
SAT or ACT scores are recommended.
Students who do not have a SAT or ACT score or applicable transfer courses must take a placement exam.
TOEFL iBT is required for international students.
A minimum score of 90 is necessary.

Please supply your most current academic transcript and certificate of conduct if you are transferring from another educational institution.
