About Central University of Technology
- CUT (Central University of Technology, Free State) is a South African university located in Bloemfontein, in the Free State state. The “Technikon Free State” was founded in 1981. It was elevated to the university of technology level as part of the South African government’s reorganization of tertiary education for the new millennium.
- For the current academic year, the Central University of Technology CUT Online Application window for undergraduate qualifications (higher certificates, advanced certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas & degrees), Honors degrees & postgraduate diplomas, and Master’s & doctoral qualifications is now open.
- If you want to apply for admission to the Central University of Technology’s undergraduate or postgraduate programs, you must do so using the Central University of Technology’s online application portal.
- The application window is open for first-time Central University of Technology applicants, Central University of Technology students changing to a new qualification and/or specialization, and Central University of Technology students changing to a new qualification and/or specialization. Students who completed a higher certificate or any other program and intend to continue with further undergraduate studies, as well as those who previously sought admission and were not awarded a place or who were provided a space but did not accept the offer and did not register.

How to Check the Status of a CUT Online Application
- Please visit the CUT application status tracker website here, to verify the status of your application. https://www.cut.ac.za/acadappstatus
- Enter your personal information, such as your student number, surname/last name, first name(s)/forename(s), or email address, for verification purposes.
- To check your application status at CUT, you’ll need the password you provided when you applied for admission.
- Fill in the relevant information and click the next button to see your application status (Pending Review, Requires Action, Complete, Undergraduate, etc.).Pending Admission Decisions, Admitted, Cleared Provisional Admission, Ineligible Admission, Quota Filled Not Selected or Cancelled)
- You’ll also be able to see what papers have been received and whether any more are required to finish your application. Your application will be examined for a decision once all relevant documents, including official copies of transcripts and certificates, have been submitted.
- Your department will make a choice based on the timescales they have set. We will send you an email after the Office of Admissions gets the department’s decision.
- By signing into your CUT applicant site, you can monitor the status of your application at any moment.
