Brief on Durban University of Technology

  • The Durban University of Technology (DUT) is a university in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, known in English as Durban University of Technology and in isiZulu as Inyuvesi Yasethekwini Yezobuchwepheshe. The Durban Institute of Technology was established in 2002 through the merger of Technikon Natal and ML Sultan Technikon. It was originally known as the Durban Institute of Technology.
  • The Durban University of Technology is a South African university located in KwaZulu Natal. The University was formerly known as the Durban Institute of Technology and was created in 2002 through the amalgamation of Technikon Natal and ML Sultan Technikon.

For admission in 2023, applications start on May 1 and close on August 31, 2023.

There are six faculties at DUT.

  • Accounting and Information Technology
  • Applied Sciences are a subset of the sciences.
  • Engineering and the Built Environment in Management Sciences
  • Arts and Design, as well as Health Sciences.

Admissions Requirements for Durban University of Technology;

  • Applicants must provide their most recent Grade 11 and Grade 12 results.
  • Failure to submit the result may cause the application process to be delayed.
  • Keep in mind to submit it inside the application time.
  • All of the documents you attach must be certified copies of the originals.

NOTE: You will be able to check your application status once you have submitted your application form.

When applying for a program at DUT, you’ll need the following documents:

  • a copy of your senior certificate or a copy of your statement of results
  • Original Identification Documents
  • Please submit an original academic record, diploma, or degree, as well as a Certificate of Conduct.
  • An indemnity agreement
  • Sheet with biographical information
  • Confirmation of your existence Form of Acceptance
  • If necessary, a surety form and a residence form
  • Permission to Conduct Research (International students only)
  • Proof of Medical Insurance (International students only)
  • ID with a passport (International students only)
  • The International Office’s Clearance Letter (International students only)
  • If necessary, you must also offer a SAQA evaluation.
  • If necessary, your Matriculation Board Evaluation.

DUT Residence Application

  • The Durban University of Technology (DUT) only accepts applicants who have successfully applied for admission. Therefore, if you have submttеd your application, you must apply for residency.

  • Please include your name and address, as well as a note that the money is for the International School, and email or scan proof of payment to international@dut.ac.za.

Please take note:

  • Acceptance notices will be sent no later than May 30.
  • You will definitely receive news much sooner if you have entered an email address.
  • You must then make arrangements to pay the remaining payments by June 4, 2014.
  • Please scan and send a copy of your payment receipt to international@dut.ac.za.

Online applications are accepted.

  • Visit https://www.dut.ac.za/ to register online. establishing a password and using your email address
  • After that, you will receive an email with a link to activate your account on the system.
  • To activate your registration, click the link.
  • This procedure will return you to ROSS, where you must select Admission/Other (clicking the right button here is important)
  • After that, you’ll be able to enter the username and password you created in step one.
  • After you’ve finished your application, click the button to accept the terms and conditions and submit it.
  • You must pay the R100 application fee once you have submitted your application. The system provides a number of possibilities.
  • If you pay your application fee at a bank, make a note of your application number on the deposit slip and email it to us.
  • We’ll process your application once you’ve completed the steps above, and you’ll be given a student number and login.
