• Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, former Prime Minister of the KwaZulu Homeland in apartheid South Africa, founded the university in 1974. Prince Buthelezi first proposed the concept of establishing a tertiary education institution specializing in technical courses during a meeting with Mr. Harry F Oppenheimer, Chairman of the Anglo American Corporation and De Beers Consolidated Mines.

How to register MUT Online 2023-2024

The online application window for the Mangosuthu University of Technology MUT is now open for:

• First-time  Mangosuthu University of Technology
• Students who are pursuing a new qualification and/or specialty
• Applicants who had previously applied for admission but had not been awarded a spot or who had been offered a spot but declined it did not register.
• Students who have completed a higher certificate or any other program and wish to pursue undergraduate education.

You will need the following items to apply for registration at the Mangosuthu University of Technology MUT Online Registration:

• A working email account
• Your South African national identification number
• International students need a passport.

How to Register for the 2023/2024 Academic Year at Mangosuthu University of Technology MUT

• Please visit https://www.mut.ac.za/registration/ to register for MUT in 2023.
• If you are unable to apply online, you may print the forms from the school’s website and submit them by mail.
