About nwu

The North West University (NWU) was founded on January 1, 2004, as part of the South African government’s ambition to modernize higher education. In our case, this resulted in a historically white and historically black institution uniting to form a new university that welcomes South Africans from all areas of life.
The previous University of North-West, whose students were largely black individuals from rural villages, was a historically black university. Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education was a traditionally white university, with students who were largely white Afrikaans individuals from Christian origins.
A third partner was the Sebokeng Campus of Vista, a predominantly black university, whose personnel and students were included.

North-West University (NWU) has an online platform where you can check the status of your application and track the processing of your online application at any time.
Once you’ve applied and received an acknowledgement letter, you can use the login information on the letter to track the status of your application. To do so, go to the login screen and enter the information from the acknowledgement letter.
